Remnants, 2024-26

Remnants, 2024-26

Remnants is an ongoing, multi-part project examining mythology, folklore and oral history in the age of digital reproduction and algorithmic narratives. Responding to the mythology of stone circles more broadly but specifically engaging with the sites of ritual at Lough Gur, Remnants explores connections and parallels between oral history and machine generated data, speculating about future knowledge and future archaeology in the digital age.

The final part of the long-term project for Askeaton Contemporary Arts, creates a stone circle of physical and virtual stones placed at various locations in Askeaton. A solstice event will also take place on the 21st June 2026 to mark the solar alignment during the Welcome to the Neighbourhood event in Askeaton.
