Future Light from Distant Stars, 2022-23

Future Light from Distant Stars, 2022-23

Future Light from Distant Stars is a multi-part project that unfolded over an 18-month period from June 2022 – December 2023. The focal point of the project was a large greenhouse which will be utilised as a growing environment, a meeting place, and a workshop space. In partnership with VISUAL Centre for Contemporary Art, a series of public engagements were developed to connect with the wider Carlow community. Exploring ideas around collective care and sustainable food production, the project will examine the potential for community, scientific and collaborative exchange to implement the wider societal change that is required to address the climate emergency.

Funded by the ESB Brighter Future Arts Fund, in partnership with Business to Arts, supporting artists and organisations that engage communities on sustainability, climate change and a net zero future.
